When you think back to how you found your wedding dress in the first place, it took a lot of walking around and checking out many bridal stores before you found the one for your important day. It drove your stress and anxiety levels through the roof trying to find such a dress and now that your big day is over, you have this wedding dress and you probably won’t get any other opportunities to wear it unless you get married again which is something that you want to avoid. It is fair to say that your wedding dress was and still is very important to you but it seems a shame to just leave it hanging in your wardrobe or put it in a box.
You can’t leave it for too long before it will need some wedding dress dry cleaning and even though it is still going to look amazing and it will keep its colour for longer, there are a number of things that you could be doing that will put your wedding dress to better use. The following are just some suggestions and some alternative uses for this particular item of clothing.
- You could give it to charity – This can sometimes be a very difficult decision to make but you can be sure that someone out there who can’t afford to buy a wedding dress brand-new, will be able to wear your dress again and so that makes giving it to charity a little bit easier. The charity will also be able to make some money to give to a worthy cause.
- You can always sell it – The one thing that you will remember is the price that you paid for your wedding dress and it certainly wasn’t cheap. Paying for the big day itself and providing food and drinks for all of your friends and family was an expensive proposition and so maybe it’s time to get a little bit of that money back.
- Change it to a party dress – With a little bit of imagination, you could be wearing your wedding dress again but in a different form. It would make sense of this point to talk to someone who can make the necessary changes for you and provide you with a stunning new dress that you can wear out to many important occasions.
- A prom dress for your daughter – This would be a fantastic thing to do and knowing that your daughter is wearing your repurposed wedding dress should put a smile back on your face. Obviously, you will have to make some alterations and probably make it a lot shorter than it currently is. The point however is that someone that you love will be wearing something that you loved.
There are so many things that you can do to use your wedding dress again and there is the option of trying again to see if it still fits you and if you still look amazing.
